REMINDER: INFORMED COMPLIANCE RE: CANADIAN SALES ENDS OCT. 2 If you have a Canadian customer purchasing a vehicle in the U.S., please be aware of new requirements now in effect. The U.S. Census Bureau requires exports of used self-propelled vehicles* to be filed in the Automated Export System 72 hours prior to export. (*Used self-propelled refers to any vehicle designed to run on land to which the title is transferred by a manufacturer, distributor, or dealer to an ultimate purchaser.) The law became effective April 5, 2014, but additional time was provided for those affected to learn the process. This informed compliance period ends October 2, 2014, after which penalties will be issued for failure to comply with the new requirements.
