REMINDER – Long Mynd Ride, Shropshire – 8th September CLOSING DATE – 28th August (extended due to the Bank Holiday) This Ride is another ‘must do’ ride with spectacular scenery throughout and should not be overlooked. Co-organiser Sue Higgins says, “We are lucky to have access over a private Linley Estate for the 24km loop (2nd loop of 64km) so not only do you ride up over Long Mynd, but the 64km class also ride up and down several spectacular hills on the other side of the valley venue.” Sue also reports, “I have just been out riding this loop again this morning. It is amazing. You will not get better riding anywhere. We look forward to receiving a few more entries particularly for the 64km class which has been sponsored by Parry Lowarch Estate Agents of Welshpool.” Based on the Shropshire Hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty), this hilly ride includes open moor, grassy tracks, a little forestry and some quiet lanes. There are some good climbs to reach the stunning views from the tops of the hills. Great training for Red Dragon! Have we convinced you yet? The 64km GER class is the main class and will be judged using the Performance Formula with the intention to have prizes to 3rd place. They have also been given sponsorship by Pioneer Endurance of headcollars for the 40km and 50km GER Classes. The venue is idyllic, with refreshments, toilets and overnight camping and corralling (payment with entry). The organisers will be taking Pleasure Ride entries on the day for the 16 km and 32 km Classes but for other classes please get your entry in soon. Late online entries will be accepted up to the 6th September but subject to the late fee of £10 (except Pleasure Riders).
