REPENTANCE BRINGS FORGIVENESS Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6,7) The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. (Psalm 34:18) I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord," and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. (Psalm 32:5) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." (Acts 3:19a) I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. (Psalm 85:8) Repentance means turning from sin as well as confessing it to God.
