REPO MAN 30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY For the 12 days of Christmas, I - TopicsExpress

REPO MAN 30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY For the 12 days of Christmas, I honor this movie, which I co-starred in, 30 years ago, by giving insider facts, stories, casting decisions, and how the studio handled it, when it was released in theaters, in 1984. This is the first installment of the REPO MAN 12 Days of Christmas, to celebrate, the anniversary of this very important art house, indie, studio picture. And now, the first day of Christmas: I have several friends who love this movie. I co-starred in it. It was released 30 years ago. It changed my life. It was underrated. It came out of leftfield. Its soundtrack, is still considered the best Punk soundtrack, to a movie ever. It was Emilio Estevezs best film. It was Alex Coxs best film. It was originally planned, as a student short film, at UCLA, in 1982. It was Harry Dean Stantons first real lead, in a studio picture. It starred real punks. It starred real actors. It was shot for 1.2 million dollars total. It was released by Universal Pictures. It was a big hit, at the 1984 Berlin Film Festival. Yet, the studio, attempted to sabotage its release, every step of the way. More on that, as the 12 days of REPO MAN Christmas, continue. I do this, to honor this movie, that changed many lives, my life amongst them. I am eternally grateful to writer/director Alex Cox, who gave me, my first big role. Thanks Al.
