REPOST FROM Pio Pro Caraga P R E S S RE L E A S E Date: July 01, 2013 Control Number: 20130701-200 Armed men abduct male residents of a Brgy in Agusan del Sur Around 5:00 in the morning of June 30, undetermined number of armed men swooped down brgy. Sta. Teresa, Loreto, Agusan del Sur and gathered around seventy male residents at Sta. Teresa Elementary School. The said armed group hogtied Brgy Kagawad Edgar Bantuasan and forcibly brought him at Sitio Cabuga of said brgy on board a motorcycle for he was suspected as a military informant. The lawless elements demanded for the withdrawal of PNP and AFP troops in the area in exchange for the release of Kagawad Bantuasan. Loreto police together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines are now conducting pursuit operations against the said suspects and to rescue the victim. Furthermore, the armed men threatened the residents to be assassinated/liquadated if they will continue to support the government troops. Municipal Crisis Management Committee is being convened to handle said situation.
