Have to dedicate this song to Councilman Tom Smith (R) for his rather humorous statement that “City Council members are just like all other city workers” as a justification for voting to the increase the wages of elected officials, like him. His commentary evoked laughter from the citizen’s galleria, which happened to contained…..(wait for it)…..city workers, like Charla from the IBEW. (shaking head at Smith’s “jump the shark” moment) Uhm, Mr. Smith….the difference between elected officials like you and city workers, is that you get to vote to give yourselves pay raises and the typical city worker does not.
