REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE TOWARDS ALLEVIATION THE SUFFERING CAUSED BY THE MALAWI 2015 FLOODS As you might be aware, Malawi has been hit by the worst Floods in the Country’s history resulting from incessant rains that have destroyed thousands of homes leaving over 200,000 people displaced and in dire need of immediate assistance. This catastrophe has so far claimed the lives of over 240 people, and scores are still missing. The items that are urgently required are maize flour, rice, beans, cooking oil, baby food, tinned foods, clothing, shoes, eating utensils, plastic sheeting, mosquito nets, linen, tents to house temporary classrooms, and logistical support. The Malawi Floods Task Team in South Africa therefore appeals to you for humanitarian assistance in the form of monetary contribution and/ or in kind through provision of the above listed items.
