RESCUES AND ADOPTERS/FOSTERS – 5 yr old, 40 lb beagle/hound mix, Scooby came to my attention via FB, and has been at the Darke County Animal Hospital since January of this year. His face, and the length of time hes been at the pound motivated me to create this page and get the word out. His original post in FB has over 8,000 shares and 300 comments. They let me visit with him in a side yard that was fenced. He is a happy guy. At first he paid little attention to me – he marked his territory a bit and then slowly, very slowly began circling closer and closer to me and gave me a quick kiss on one of his drive-bys! It took about 30 minutes for Scooby to finally pay attention and he sat within hands-reach of me on the grass. Scooby is good with dogs and kids, checking on cats. I think he might be being overlooked because it takes him just a bit to warm up. But there are NO signs of aggression. You just need to be patient when meeting him – give him a chance to come to you. If you or someone you know wants a companion, please consider Scooby vs. a puppy or breeder/petshop dogs. His “neighbor” buddy at the pound finally got adopted, so Scooby is without interaction even if it was through a cage. Shelter hours are 8am till 4:30pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 till noon on Saturday.
