RESOLUTION 42 INTRODUCING TEAM MTHWAKAZI FOR THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS In a meeting held on the 17th of June 2013 at 17.00hrs we as a fora and platform of youth organizations resolved that candidates for the forthcoming elections must be elected on merit and across political platforms. When the responsibility of emancipating a people has fallen on a new generation they must take up the call, without fear, doubt and intimidation. They must embrace that responsibility and make sure that nothing absolutely nothing stands in their way. The Mthwakazi Youth Leaders Joint Resolution believes and knows that the same responsibility that befell the generation of our fathers in the yester years have suddenly fallen on the shoulders of our generation. Embracing that duty and responsibility we hereby state that the first task of the whole community of Mthwakazi is to choose the right leadership for the task ahead. A political leadership that will spearhead the HOMELAND RIGHTS CAMPAIGN, and the subsequent establishment of a parliament for the geo-political constituency of Mthwakazi mthwakaziparliament.org by utilizing statutes and provisions in the new constitution specifically Section 58 and 59 which constitutionally grants the people the right to freely assembly and pertition a sitting government on critical issues. TEAM MTHWAKAZI must lead the campaign for a Constitutional Act that will establish a parliament with executive powers on issues of health, education, local police, finance, transport, rural development, housingand e.t.c. With the elections having been announced and just around the corner. In fact, old crop (traditional politicians), new age (new breed), and the confused (those who either belong or are worthy to belong) alike are winding down on their campaign stories and too good to be true campaign messages. While any reasoning individual will surely see that there are so many problems to be dealt with especially in the beautiful land of Mthwakazi where issues like water, education, employment, development, self-determination, respect of rights, re-dress of the Gukurahundi genocide and descent burial of the victims of genocide are topping the list. In the past there has been a lot of sell myself campaigns, In actual fact there has been just too much politicking. With the social, cultural decay and political economy we are beset with, we have seen in the past decades a continuous trend of lousy leadership. The culture of elections in the land of Mthwakazi has bordered around fear, vote buying and misplaced candidate choices based on shallow agendas like regime change with a staunch focus on the Presidential seat. Which has been the foundational pillar of our lost local cause because we have completely lost focus of the local assemblies and councils which has caused a lot of problems in the local governance of all councils in the land of Mthwakazi. Sadly, those who desire change have been dancing to the same tune. In order for change to occur, a number of advocates for progressive change must be there first. Those who are in the same rotten bureaucracy, will have to be shown the exit door. We have to risk the new breed of leaders and trust that they will be steadfast in their original vision and ideals. Politicians are in varying degrees of one kind. We cannot fully stop them when only their names appear on the list of options. In fact, we must make sure that some of their names do not appear on the top lists. Educating the electorate may not even be enough to solve this political quandary. All we need are tangible alternatives. They need not win at first, but they must be able and willing should they win. This movement must always be present to shake up the institution and keep it on its toes. In time, with this movement, the voting public will come to a 180-degree paradigm shift. At this given juncture we can only be optimistic that somehow we’d be able to choose better candidates who have the Mthwakazi people at heart. But such hope leads to the questions: Who must we vote for on election day? We should thoroughly assess the qualifications of the candidates. After all, suffrage is not just a right being upheld in the Constitution; it’s a responsibility we must carefully exercise to ensure that we get the right leadership we truly deserve. The electorate must be vigilant and keen in choosing real leaders. We must choose a candidate who has striven hard to earn our trust and who is more than willing to return the trust to us. Also, we must choose candidates who have the courage and self-confidence to do the right thing versus what’s convenient, popular, and personally beneficial. Most of us know what the right thing to do is, but not all of us have the courage to do it. And they should not run out of courage when personal intentions have already been satisfied. Candidates like these are rare; they must be perpetuated for the common good. Nonetheless, we need not elect just those who embody the characteristics mentioned but also those who have the capability to fulfil the duty. The younger, promising generation of leaders must be integrated to carry on the task of liberating our people. Finally, let’s be wise we must begin choosing our leaders now in this regard we as youth leaders began choosing our leaders for Mthwakazi in the year 2012. We have followed them for consistency, courage, truth and will power to deliver the people of Mthwakazi from the seemingly unending bondage. These are the sons and daughters originally born and bred in Mthwakazi and hence must not lose, we further state that wherever these true cadres stand people must respect their candidature, we will not tolerate candidates from other regions to come and challenge them. The list so far has the following names: 1.Mr Moses Mzila Ndlovu (Bulilima West) MDC 2. Mr Sindiso Shepherd Mazibisa (Magwegwe Constituency) INDEPENDENT MP 3. Mr Lazarus Ray Ncube (Lupane East) INDEPENDENT MP 4. Mr Mqondisi Moyo (Entumbane/Emakhandeni) INDEPENDENT MP 5. Mr Tomic Dube ( Makokoba) INDEPENDENT MP 6. Mr Esau Ncube INDEPENDENT 10. Mr Japhet Ndabeni Ncube (Executive mayor Bulawayo) INDEPENDENT TEAM MTHWAKAZI should be composed of dedicated professionals who are committed to work for the people of Mthwakazi in the local council, senate, provincial assemblies and ultimately Parliament. They should be people who will be able to debate issues and make policies that will serve and save people from political oblivion. The TEAM must be people who will make sure that WATER is delivered to Mthwakazi, EDUCATION is improved, INDUSTRY is resuscitated, INFRASTRUCTRE is re-invented, SECURITY of citizens is guaranteed, HEALTH is improved, The ECONOMY is improved, CULTURE and HISTORY is properly restored. UBUNTU is restored. The real freedom fighters of war are respected. People killed during the GENOCIDE are given a decent burial. Until such is achieved we shall not rest, We stand and remain firmly resolute in the fight for th fundamental rights of our people. By Mthwakazi Youth Leaders Joint Resolution.
