RESQUE: Two travellers/men from Switzerland, where rescued from Kjalvegur, a little north of Hveravellir, the highland road, in the middle of the night. They where travelling from Akureyri in the north heading to Reykjavik. The men called #112, the help line here, at 3 oclock last night, the did not know exactly where they where on the road. The rescue team from Blönduós where sent out and found them alright around 06 o´clock this morning and got them save and sound back to Blönduós around 8:30 this morning. They where really thankful for the resque. This road they where travelling on is closed during winter! Travellers please take heed to warnings about these signs if you are travelling in Iceland, especially during winter. The warning signs are not there without reason! :O Hundreds of rescue workers where called out last night because of the storm. Windows where braking, roofs where ripped off and causing damage to cars et.c.and some trees where uprooted from the ground. But fortunately there where not much harm of people :) iceland-online.is/
