RETAIN OUR JUDGES - do not allow the current administration to devastate the independent judiciary any further. Please read below - I am, of course, personally concerned over the unfair attacks on my brother-in-law, Eric Rosen. I echo my sister who stated: This has been a troubling time. Where I appreciate and empathize with the intensity of the feelings that the victims of the Carr Brothers heinous crime has provoked, the response by politicians for their own personal gain is severely troubling. The need for an independent judiciary is essential to uphold our rights, our constitution and the rule of law. Eric, as a life long Kansan has always served the people of the state and has been well respected. The following link reflects his standing with the Kansas Bar Association ksbar.org/news/199406/Leading-Groups-Urge-Voters-Protect-Fair-Courts-Make-Informed-Choice-in-Judicial-Election.htm Below is excerpts from a letter to the editor that Suzanne James who was a victim of a heinous crime when her parents were murdered. She clearly states his strengths and dedication to the law and the people of the State of Kansas. Excerpts from Suzanne James letter to the editor: In the eleven years I spent both personally and professionally observing and working in the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office as a victim, a victim advocate, and service provider, Justice Rosen earned my deep admiration and respect both as a district court judge then and as a Kansas Supreme Court Justice today. Throughout his judicial career, Justice Rosen has consistently demonstrated toughness on criminals and exceptional compassion and concern for crime victims winning a special victims rights award from the Kansas Attorney General when he was a district judge. He has proven time and time again to be an eminently fair and impartial judge who unwaveringly strives to merge the objective of justice for all with the rule of the law which the many Republicans and their dangerous special interest backers so want to eliminate. Justice Eric Rosen strongly merits our retention vote. Independent and impartial judges are among the last obstacles to prevent complete radicalization of state law and what remains of state government. Vote to retain Justice Eric Rosen.
