REVELATION OF A DIFFERENCE! He is Faithful By Colette Toach Lamentations3:22 to 24 - [It is of] the LORDS mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness. The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. It is hard to come by people these days you can put your trust in. Even as a Christian you find it hard to open yourself to others and place in their hands your heart and desires. You keep your secrets close to yourself and your pain tight inside. I guess it is the way society has become. Each time you are hurt and let down, you just withdraw tighter into that shell. Like a tortoise when impending danger approaches, you hide fast into your shell, safe in the protection you have given yourself. Sometimes you even hide yourself from the Lord. You are too scared to trust in Him, just in case He lets you down. After all, that is the way you have learned to deal with it, isnt it? So you hide in your fear and confusion trying to work through it on your own. It must grieve our Lord Jesus to tears, to see you struggle while He has His hand open ready to help. Yet you fear too much to let go even for that moment. You pull into your shell, stepping back from facing up to what confronts you. I have a bit of news for you today. You arent gonna make it! You are gong to flunk, and the faith and trust you even have had in yourself is going to fall round your feet. The Lord is the only constant in your life, the only rock of Gibraltar. He doesnt mess up! He doesnt make mistakes. Well, that doesnt apply to me, you may argue. I have been serving Him faithfully for years now. Oh yeah? When was the last time you admitted defeat, admitted to being the failure you are, before the Lord? When have you admitted that, Hey! I really dont have it all together! But Praise the Lord He does, and I cant do any good thing without Him! Praise the Lord that He uses the weak and foolish to confound the wise! Praise the Lord for His grace, that He could use someone as pathetic as me and raise me up in the eyes of men, to use my very failures as my scepter and my very transgressions as a stepping stone! He is faithful in a way you could never imagine until you have come to that revelation. Think of every person that has hurt and let you down. Think of every time you messed up, think of everything you lack in. Replace the Lord in each of these thoughts, replace Him into each situation, and see how He would deal with them. You may begin to scratch the surface as to His grace and faithfulness. For where others and we fail, He succeeds exceedingly abundantly above all you may think - or even imagine! Give Him those things you hold so close to you today and take the first step to letting go and admitting defeat. For it is in your failure He will exalt you. It is in your humiliation that He will lift you up. It is in your depression He will fill you to overflowing with joy. Walk through today blessed in the name of Jesus, filled with His life, and surrounded by His sweet presence.
