This is January 2015 Ascension” By Michael Tolleson, Autistic savant Artist 18 x 24 (45.7 x 60.9 cm) Acrylic on Canvas Each of my angels symbolize not only the spiritual aspects of life, but also the state of being of the humanity to which they serve as guides and protectors. The act of stripping one’s self bare is an act of utter trust. To abandon all facades and barriers and expose the inner truth of what it is that composes us and makes us the fragile creatures we are, is an act that says “I trust you to see me, and not abandon me based on who I really am”. To be free of outward pretense and seen as whole without judgment is a precarious place to place one’s self since the potential for rejection is great. Many persons have revealed the utmost secrets of themselves to trusted friends, family, and coworkers only to be regarded as damaged goods or risks. My angel has shed the barriers of trying to be one of the many and has chosen to be herself without excuses and without hiding behind an image of what others would like to see or would like for her to be. By shamelessly kicking aside the obstructions that would keep others from seeing the true person contained within, she is now free to arise from the mundane and typical to a higher plane of existence. She truly has found her wings to fly and is moving forward into the act of ascension.
