RIGHT CHOICE IN A WICKED WORLD These days, it is difficult to find a life time partner or spouse despite the numerous available single men and women. Since marriage is supposed to be a life long contract, choice becomes the clue. How does one make the right decision or choose the right person that he/she can spend entire life with among the wicked people of our world. God did not create the world this way but it just grieved Him that we’ve turned out to be wicked; ‘And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5).’ Because God gave us the right to choose, man has decided to do as he pleases. So how does the right and faithful man/woman be found? ‘Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? (Proverbs 20:6). This is a million dollar question. Since what is hidden in the mind can not be understood from mere looking, so how do I know a faithful man/woman? Then as for the man, he needs a virtuous woman which the bible defines as; ‘A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones (Proverbs 12:4).’ She is a “crown” to her husband. ‘Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10). So, how can this woman be found in the midst of all the unstable sisters? This again, is the man’s fear. It is neither the fault of the man or the woman because; ‘ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:6).’ We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way but out of love, God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on Jesus Christ and it is Him alone that can help us in making the right choice. Listen to this; Isaiah 45:11; ‘Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.’ This is what you need to know which is the knowledge of knowing how to make the right decision. This is what the Word directs us to do; ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).’ We must not rely on our human understanding to have the knowledge of making the right choice. PRAYER POINT: LORD, take my understanding, my eyes, my ears, and all my sensory organs that influence my decision making and make them yours in Jesus name. I invite you to come and take full control of my life in Jesus name. Thank you father for taking over in Jesus name… Amen.
