RIGHT HERE IN #HARLEM: SUPER SATURDAY STEM EXPO! When: Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Where: The Harlem Armory Super Saturday is an annual expo. Designed for New York City youth and their families, the event features hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities and demonstrations. In the 50,000 square foot Harlem Armory, public school students in Pre-K to Grade 12 that attend Harlem’s Community School District 5 exhibit their own STEM projects, alongside activity booths set up by museums, science & technology centers, colleges, non-profits, companies, government agencies, and more. Since the first Super Saturday in 2008 in a Harlem school cafeteria, attendance has grown from 200 to 1,500 youth, parents, community leaders and STEM professionals. Super Saturday is presented by Manhattan’s Community School District 5. DIRECTIONS TO THE HARLEM ARMORY: Location: 40 West 143rd Street between Lenox Ave. and Fifth Ave. New York, NY 10037 Entrance: Public entrances are closer to 5th Ave on 143rd Street and 142nd Street. Elevator entrance on 142nd Street. Subway: 3 train to 145th St and Lenox Ave. / Malcolm X Blvd or 2/3 train to 135th St and Lenox Ave. / Malcolm X Blvd. Bus: In Manhattan, M1, M7 and M102 all stop on Lenox Ave / Malcolm X Blvd. From the Bronx: Bx19 to W. 145th St and Lenox Ave. / Malcolm X Blvd. or Bx33 to 135th Street / Malcolm X Blvd.
