RIP Aiden- $1 million bail for Anderson couple arrested on suspicion of murder in infants death REDDING, California - An Anderson couple arrested Tuesday on suspicion of murder in the death of their three-month-old son remained in Shasta County Jail today with bails of at least $1 million. Cynthia Darlyne McBroom, 20, and Robert Morgan McBroom, 22, will both will faces charges of murder and assault on a child, jail records show. Robert McBroom was also booked on an alleged contempt of court charge. Its a heartbreaking case, Redding Police Sgt. Todd Cogle said Tuesday. Investigators determined the couple had assaulted their son, who died at a Sacramento hospital Monday afternoon, Cogle said. Anderson police originally were called Saturday morning to the McBroom home in the 1900 block of Mill Street for a baby having trouble breathing, Cogle said. The boy was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding, where staff noticed head injuries consistent with child abuse, dispatch records show. According to the police records, staff said the young child’s injuries were inconsistent with the story his parents provided. The boy was flown to U.C. Davis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Monday at 3:20 p.m. Investigators interviewed Cynthia and Robert McBroom and determined the boy had been abused on at least two occasions within the previous week, Cogle said. Both parents acknowledged assaulting the child during interviews with police investigators, Cogle said. He declined to elaborate on the alleged abuse, citing the ongoing investigation. The boys sister, 2, was placed in the care of Shasta County Child and Family Services, Cogle said. Whether she was abused is being investigated, he said. She didnt require emergency care. Anderson police and Redding police worked together on the case, he said. He said he couldnt comment on whether they had a history of calls with the Anderson Police Department. Robert McBroom previously was charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor child abuse in June of 2014, Shasta County Superior Court electronic court records show. He pleaded not guilty, those records show. redding/…/1-million-bail-for-anderson-couple…
