RIP Frederick Pohl, the last survivor of the first true SF authors - TopicsExpress

RIP Frederick Pohl, the last survivor of the first true SF authors from the generation with Clarke, Heinlein, and Asimov, and now he is gone as well. Together with his peers he helped expand the idea of what science fiction could be beyond its pulp roots toward maturity. I heard him speak in Chicago at a handful of conventions in the mid 90s. A soft-spoken, charming, gentle man. His contributions were often eclipsed by his more famous peers, but he was a vital part of shaping the genre I have loved all my life Rest easy, sir.
