RIP Ian, My thought are with the family at this sad time. Quite a few months ago I warned that by joining ATOS in consultation groups surrounding the implementation of the WCA, certain National Amputee Charities (Limbless Association & BLESMA) where giving authority to claims by ATOS that there was nothing wrong with the WCA after all they are working with charities would come to pass. and here it is. A spokesperson from the Department of Work and Pensions said: " “A decision on whether someone is well enough to work is taken following a thorough assessment and after consideration of all the supporting medical evidence from the claimant’s GP or medical specialist. “Through a series of independent reviews and by working with medical experts and charities, we have considerably improved the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) process since 2010 to make it fairer and more accurate.” " And so, now not only do Atos & the DWP need to shoulder some responsibility for loss of life, we now find that some National Charities must also share that responsibility.
