RIP all who passed on 9/11 and best wishes to those who still have - TopicsExpress

RIP all who passed on 9/11 and best wishes to those who still have pains from that day. What is about to happen is imminent and important. Obama has authorized airstrikes in the Middle East (Syria, Iraq) and has asked Congress for funding for war. Two Americans journalists were allegedly beheaded by ISIS and the group continues control and influence over regions of Syria and Iraq. Regarding this, Obama delivered a speech last night about ISIS and how to deal with the situation. What is scary and noticeable is Obamas rhetoric. Every single word in a presidential speech is planned, written, and rewritten until the meaning is perfect with the what administration wants to tell. Here is a quote from Obamas speech regarding intervention with ISIS: [ISIS] poses a threat to the people of Iraq and Syria, and the broader Middle East - including American citizens, personnel and facilities. If left unchecked, these terrorists could pose a growing threat beyond that region - including to the United States. The terrorists could pose a threat. Are they posing a threat to American citizens now? Well, from the looks of it, no. So lets go into Iraq version 3.0. Lets repeat a Vietnam. Lets pretend that we are important enough to play this failed role of world police. This war is not for the protection of the American people and using reasons such as 9/11, these beheadings, and other pathos inducing situations that can convince a country to reunite for a lost cause fueled by economic greediness and hawkish politicians. This world has a lot of problems. People are fighting, bombing, shooting, beheading; its all happening. That does not leave us the right to again go to war in a land with unpredictable outcomes so our military complex can keep rubbing itself in trillions of dollars. We are the voters. We can not let another unnecessary war happen because of humanitarian or self-protection when in reality, the situation seems to look like political warmongering not for the benefit of the citizens. As extreme as ISIS is, its goal is not to perform domestic terrorism in the United States as of now. There is a lot to sacrifice by possibly not taking action, the what ifs of whether a disaster could happen here in America. Right now though, there is no proof to make an attack any more likely than it has been. The security theater needs to stop. People, believe it is NOT for your own good that this country is going to war again. There are many questions to ask like how long will we be there? How much does it cost? We know this though: Who will pay for this war? You, your family, your friends. Who will fight for this war? You, your family, your friends. Who will benefit from this war? Not you, not your family, not your friends but rather politicians influenced by war lobbying, the military industrial complex, etc. There are other things we dont know. This does not mean we should create another enormous military operation for some possible benefits that may or may not be true. America can swing you any way if you let it, that is the power of emotions. After having lived through the 2000s, lets look back a decade and see how our last president did with a similar situation. Oil and military money, one hell of a power. vox/2014/9/10/6134087/obama-isis-speech-revealing time/3319658/obama-isis-speech-iraq-syria/
