RISE OF THE JIHADIS IN AFRICA: A scholarly assessment: Mufassil Islam, PhD Researcher , TCD, Dublin University _________________________________________________ CIA trained rogues, fanatics and headless chickens who fought against the Soviets in Afghanistan and they were well trained militias who were picked up initially by dint of their religiosity (remember the address by President Jimmy Carter who called Afghanistan an Islamic nation and the USSR the atheist nation after the Russians invaded Afghanistan) which has now backfired as they have now spread all over the Muslim world fighting against their own old recruiters - the CIA, the US and the West. The chicken has come home to roost. We have seen them in Asia and now they are running amok in Sub-Saharan Africa. If you play with fire - you are bound to get your fingers burnt at times. Who trained Saddam? Who trained Osama? History has proven repeatedly that African nations in the long run stand together irrespective of their religious or political differences and we have seen that in case of Zimbabwe against the UK as they see the west as the old imperialist slave traders and share a common hate. I predicted here only a few weeks ago that France would get more involved in the Islamic world to keep the fledgling trade line intact and the UK will surely keep losing economic and political influence. We have seen the beginning of this desperate move by France last week. Needless to say Africa is the Muslim majority continent. It is a great mistake to get entangled in wars in Africa where the wider mass in used to butchery and wars. It is a great mistake as Africa is no Asia and it is a great mistake as all super powers are fighting for economic dominance with China having its top priority in Africa. It is not impossible that China would arm those who oppose western presence there. Mark my word. The same situations happened in the 19th century (Berlin Summit on Africa 1884-1885) when the imperialists cut the African cake to divide ruling grounds but in this modern time and era this is impossible. What is the solution then? - Mufassil Islam africafederation.net/Berlin_1885.htm
