RK Sanatomba award conferred IMPHAL, Jun 30: Chief Reporter of Poknapham daily Angom Ranjit has been confered this year’s RK Sanatomba Memorial Journalist Award. Ningthemcha Ongbi Mangishija of RK Sanatomba Memorial Trust handed over the award to Ranjit in a solemn function held at the auditorium of JN Manipur Dance Academy today. The award comprised of Rs 20,000 , a citation and a shawl. Social worker Thounaojam Iboyaima, historian Professor Gangmumei Kamei and H Dwijasekhar Sharma were present at the function. H Dwijasekhar Sharma said that people of Manipur must ready themselves for the upgradation of Imphal airport to international airport, coming of railway line and opening of trans-international highway. There is need to have discussion on the possible impacts which Manipur would witness when these changes happen, he added. People of Manipur must understand that different types of products of ASEAN countries would pass through the State, he said and added that there is need to occupy maximum benefits from handloom, handicraft and medicare bussiness. Volume-VII, Issue-II of Kangla Lanbung was also released in today’s function. Born in 1963, RK Sanatomba was the youngest son of RK Khedasana and Mangi Shija. He died in 1993. He was the Editor of Kangla Lanbung.
