ROBIN WILLIAMS RIP. I am so sad about the death of Robin Williams. I met him in a bar in Lahina, Hi. He was soo shy. I said great band hu? I left him alone. I saw him perform 2x in person. Once in the 80s at Cobbs in SF... he was sooo high on coke. He was sitting in the front row, then came up on stage. 5 min. after he got on stage, some guy heckled him, saying something dumb. Robin came back instantly with such a cut. He then spent the next 15 min making up a huge story on what a loser the jerk was based on his dumb remark. Everyone was laughing so hard. I was falling out of my chair….my side hurt, my cheeks hurt. It was painful to laugh that hard. The other was 2 years ago at the Throckmorton in Marin 2 years ago. There he was trying out new material. Some was great, others were lame. He was so sharp crossing out jokes that didn’t work on his handwritten notes. He did the funniest spoof on Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was demonstrating that he humps everything; his maid, the bar stool, the curtains. Both appearances were a surprise.
