ROUTE 95 BRIDGE PROJECT UPDATE: July 19, 2014 Closures planned for I-95 project Newburyport Daily News NEWBURYPORT — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will implement overnight lane closures on I-95 north and southbound on Monday, July 21 in Newburyport and Amesbury as part of the Whittier Bridge/I-95 Improvement Project. The right lane of I-95 northbound from Route 113 to Route 110 will be closed from 7 PM to 5 AM and the right lane of I-95 southbound from I-495 to the Pine Hill Road/Ferry Road Bridge will be closed from noon to 9 PM. The closures are necessary to facilitate delivery of steel beams for construction of the new bridge. In addition to the closures, “rolling roadblocks” will be implemented on I-95 north and southbound between 9 PM and midnight where State Police travel at reduced speed behind the trucks to allow them to travel across the bridge without other traffic present. For more information, questions or concerns about the work, please contact Daniel Fielding, MassDOT Legislative Liaison, at 857-368-8959 or [email protected].
