RSAF has a robust system to monitor our skies and respond swiftly to aircraft veering off their flight path, said Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen in response to a parliamentary question yesterday. One such incident occurred in 2008 when an aircraft without an approved flight plan was detected heading into Singapores airspace. When things didnt check out, the RSAF activated its F-16 fighter jets to intercept the aircraft while its Ground-Based Air Defence units went on alert.
