RSPCA AND DAILY MIRROR ANIMAL HERO AWARDS 2014 Do you know an animal that has gone above and beyond for an owner or friend? Or maybe you have a pet that has had a traumatic life but has shown outstanding resilience and now brings joy to your life. Or do you have a friend who has campaigned for animal welfare in your area? We want to hear your heart warming animal stories so if you know someone or an animal that deserves to be recognised then nominate them for an Animal Hero Award! animalheroawards.co.uk/index.html Last year our partnership work with Newport City Council won the Public Sector Contribution award and there is a lovely write up in the 2013 Award Winners section on the website. This years categories are detailed below - it would be wonderful to see some of our lovely Hope Rescue dogs nominated in particular! Hero Animal of the Year Sponsored by RSPCA For an animal that has shown outstanding courage in a time of crisis. Public Service Animal of the Year For an animal who works in extreme conditions to protect and serve. Caring Animal of the Year Sponsored by Vets 4 Pets For an animal who has cared for and shown compassion to an individual and made a difference to their life. Rescue Animal of the Year Sponsored by Support Adoption for Pets For an animal that has been abandoned or hurt but has gone on to achieve something extraordinary. Young Animal Enthusiast of the Year Sponsored by Pets at Home For a young person or group, under 16, that has built a strong relationship between themselves and animals and/or actively works to improve the welfare of animals. Animal Enthusiast of the Year Sponsored by MoreThan Pet Insurance For an individual or group that has built a strong relationship between themselves and animals and/or actively works to improve the welfare of animals. Celebrity Animal Fan of the Year For an individual that is a well known animal lover who uses his/her public profile to promote and improve animal welfare. RSPCA Superstar for the Year Sponsored by RSPCA For an employee or volunteer that has made an outstanding contribution in 2014. Outstanding Business Award To recognise a business, small or large, that has made animal welfare an important consideration for their business practices. Special Recognition Award To recognise an outstanding project or piece of work that has impacted on animal welfare. Lifetime Achievement Award For an individual that has shown a long standing commitment to improving animal welfare.
