RTC LAUNCHES SMARTPHONE APP FOR BOOKING TICKETS HYDERABAD: To ease the process of booking APSRTC tickets using smartphones, a mobile based website was launched by the corporation’s VC & MD J Purnachandra Rao on Monday. After enabling this feature for smartphone-users, Purnachandra Rao said they were expecting 3,000 additional tickets to be booked online using this mode. The web address apsrtconline.in and tsrtcbus.in, can be accessed for bookings. Payments can be made using credit, debit cards or net banking option. About the earlier trend of booking tickets, he said, out of the 1.41 lakh seats available in the RTC buses, 16,000 tickets are booked everyday using online mode. Apart from that, 1,400 tickets are booked through private ticket booking portals. The existing portal apsrtconline.in will continue to be operational and officials said that the corporation will continue to offer its services through this portal to people of both the states. Regarding the much delayed bifurcation of the corporation, Purnachandra Rao said they are expecting to get clarity about division of employees and work between two states by this week.
