RULES FOR DECLAMATION 1. Each team is to be represented by two speakers only; one to speak on Urdu and other on English topic. 2. One speaker from each team will be required to speak on serious topic and other on humorous one. 3. A speaker may speak for a minimum of four minutes and a maximum of six minutes. Marks will be deducted for failing to wind up within the stipulated time. 4. The contest will be spread over two rounds. In the initial round all teams will participate. Five best teams will be selected for the final round. Apart from the five best teams, eight best speakers will also be selected, for the final round, four from English Category and four from Urdu Category. 5. The speakers will be assessed by a panel of three judges. 6. One individual prize each in English and Urdu have been allocated for the speakers. However a consolation prize can also be given, if recommended by the judges. 7. Paper reading is not allowed. Any speaker violating this rule will be penalized. 8. Trophy will be given to the best team based upon the total score of both speakers in the final round. 9. No speaker is allowed to pass derogatory remarks about any important personage, national leader, religious and social controversies, defense services, court of law or government agencies. Violation of this instruction shall lead to his/her disqualification from the competition and the speaker will be requested to leave the stage immediately. 10. Use of words sentences with indecent/vulgar connotation, passing derogatory remarks against the chair person or casting aspirations upon their speakers shall be viewed seriously and shall lead to his/her disqualification from the competition. 11. The decision of the judges is final and unquestionable. Anyone trying to challenge them will be dealt severely. NOTE : I. Single speaker will not be allowed to represent an institution. II. A maximum number of three teams can participate from an institution. III. The prizes will be awarded to the best individual speakers in addition to the teams.
