RUN DONT WALK TO SEE MALEFICENT! I saw it TWICE today. BLEW MY MIND. On all levels. Angelina Jolie has produced a revolutionary fairy tale (written by Linda Woolverton) from the FEMALE raw experience in which she is the Glamazon Super Hero Fairy Goddess Lilith Witch and TOTAL COUGAR to boot. :) I laughed. I cried. No, actually I bawled like a baby. I cheered out loud. Its the womans Avatar. Its the new Wicked. But its so much more. Forget Brave. Forget Frozen. Those are Hollywoods attempts at pseudo female centered fairy tales in which...well...not much has really changed. But Maleficent? TOTAL GAME CHANGER. DIFFERENT UNIVERSE. No tired old tropes. NEW and NUANCED CHARACTERS that women will instantly recognize, but we rarely get to see on film, especially in a fairy tale. And no cleavage or heaving bosoms whatsoever. Just STUNNING females of all ages IN THEIR BODIES, riding horses, soaring, indulging their senses, kicking butt..WHAT a breath of fresh air. Men, go see it IF YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND HOW WOMEN FEEL/THINK when they are the SUBJECT of THEIR own story and not the OBJECT of YOURS. THIS IS OUR STORY. Seriously.
