Race day threw a lot of things our way! We had a section of trail that was vandalized twice in the same morning by someone taking down markings at key intersections, and thanks to my amazing crew, I was able to get out and fix all the markings twice before any runners got off course. In addition we had three major injuries up on the ridge trail that almost required an ambulance (happily we were able to call it off when the runner was able to make her way to the aid station). A big thank you to the people that made the Bellingham Trail Marathon and Half go so smoothly: James Varner, Brandon Williams, Heather Anderson, Mark/ Riley Stone-Kerr Jen Gallant, Kristal Sager, Terry Sentinella, Kevin Douglas, James Willson, and many more volunteers, many of whom spent all day volunteering! Thanks Mary Walker for bringing the woman with a broken arm to the ER.
