Race directors report will come later: the important things first -- the thanks to all who helped me pull off another excellent running of the Carrboro 50K. The course markers -- Tumbler, Scrapple, Bobcat, Snuffy, Half Dome, Gilly, and somebody Im forgetting (Haggis?) The coffee -- Open Eye for making, Wackus for being the first of three to get it (oops) The MC and timer -- Wackus, you da man! The Trailheads -- general support and the water coolers Fire, Stove, and Logistics -- Edge, you two are da man! Tents -- Gyro, you scared the rain away, Thanks! Post-run hypothermia avoidance -- Gumbi, that down coat and space heater ROCKED! Tiny, you were so very helpful, too, Thanks for keeping me from having to go up and down that hill dozens of times :) And on a personal note, the fellow runners who kept me company and tolerated my boring stories, including but not limited to Icarus, Kevin, Doug, and Barnburner. I know Im missing loads of others: I blame my post race hypoxia (not my age) PS The supposed person of authority who visited and made us put out the fire -- thanks for nothing, dude. Really, like you have nothing better to do than deprive a bunch of runners from warming themselves by a fire thats in an elevated fire pit??? Really?!!!
