Race equity is always the focus for civil rights activists, even when its not in the news. In the wake of so many people of color lost to police killings, lets talk about implicit bias and #Ferguson. Racial inequity isnt only overt racism, its deeply rooted subordination, unconscious prejudice, and systemic barriers to acknowledging those biases. We have to keep the focus on activism, what to do, how to gather for change. Recognizing the role of implicit bias is common ground that everyone can stand on - that everyone can incorporate into the every day fight for equity.
