Racism 101! So, this video says everything black people have been trying to say for so long...but when a white person says it, I imagine it has a greater impact. Two major points (which I recently tried, and failed, to explain to someone I thought was capable of understanding such things): 1. There is insurmountable evidence and research that supports the fact that systemic racial disparities exist in society that disproportionately impacts African Americans. 2. Even if there was a lack of hard facts, numbers, and statistics...is the opinion of the people not enough to prove that racism and racial discrimination are a major issue in this country? If an entire group of people tells you they feel oppressed, why wouldnt you believe that? And how can you even think that you understand, let alone refute their feelings of oppression?
