Racism is a blindness... Not a blindness of the eyes, it is something much worse...It is a blindness of the heart and of knowledge and understanding...Sometimes it is an intentional refusal to see...sometimes it is ignorance...Blindness to the glory of God in His intentional creation of different ethnic groups...Blindness the unique characteristics & strengths He created in each one...Blindness to our real need for each other...Blindness to the strategy of our adversary, the devil to categorize, stereotype and divide us...Blindness that keeps us from being compassionate to the deep levels of woundedness from this battle...Blindness from Gods strategy and power for breakthrough and healing...Blindness to the Truth... When you cant see, help is required...You see, some blindness not only keeps you from seeing...it keeps you from seeing that you cant see...So, those with this kind of blindness dont think theyre blind...They think they can see...and that is a very dangerous condition to be in.. Jesus addressed this spiritual condition in Revelation 3:17- Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. What is sad...and astounding, is that those who cant see, spend time with others who cant see, asking one another if they are blind?...but all that actually happens is that they reinforce each others blindness by their perspectives...Beloved, this is what is happening when people of one ethnic group are only open to what others in their same ethnic group are seeing and saying. This is what happens when we limit our relationships to only those like us...Those who are the same color...those who hold the same political ideologies...those who live in the same neighborhood, or go to the same kind of church...Jesus identified that condition too, They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” (Mt 15:14) Since the root of this blindness is spiritual in nature, its only solution is spiritual. Only God has the ability to truly change hearts and renew minds...and He promises help. Isaiah 42:16-I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them. But, this requires a choice...This requires agreement...Agreement that blindness is present...Agreement that help is needed...and agreement with Gods method of restoring sight to the heart...Jesus said, As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Rev. 3:19-21) Perhaps my voice is one from outside your circle...and perhaps you are struggling with the things I have said...and what I am saying is outside your comfort zone...So, you have a question to answer....Am I blind...or are you?
