*Rain Develops Late This Afternoon* *Steady/Heavy Rain Tonight* *Snow Showers Monday Morning Commute* DETAILS – Clouds will thicken over central Virginia this morning and light rain will begin to break out from 2p to 5pm from south to north. Our temperatures will only climb to a high in the lower 40s this afternoon, due to the extra clouds. The rain will become steady and heavy this evening and tonight with lows dropping back inot the middle and upper 30s. The rain will continue into the early morning hours on Saturday and slowly begin to taper off. Rain showers could mix with some snow showers during the afternoon as the system departs and colder air moves in. We are not expecting any accumulation. Sunday will be partly sunny with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. A fast moving weather system, an Alberta Clipper, will be moving toward us late Sunday night and that could provide some light snow for Monday morning’s commute. At this point this system is fairly light in moisture, so we are not looking at any real accumulation, but a dusting cannot be ruled out. Partly sunny skies will return for the rest of the week with highs in the upper 30s for Tuesday and Wednesday and climbing into the middle 40s by Thursday. .
