Raising the minimum wage provides direct stimulus to the economy. If you give a poor man one hundred dollars, he will spend it because he has to. If you give a rich man one hundred dollars, he will save it because he can. Food stamps, financial aid, unemployment checks... All direct stimulus back into the economy. Lowering taxes for big business simply raises profits for them. Employees waiting to be trickled down on will be waiting for a while. When was the last time your boss was chasing you down with a pay raise? Oh, I really just thought youd like a salary increase, Bud... You up for that? They increase the luxury for the guy at the top. This isnt a country of haves and soon-to-haves (besides the obvious mathematical impossibility) as Senator Marco Rubio says, we are a country of haves who want more and the other 99%. Stop letting them take it from us! We should tie the minimum wage to inflation by Constitutional Amendment, in my opinion. Tie it to 110% of inflation and you can eliminate inflation while youre add it too. Who is with me?
