Rajkot, March 12: Castorseed up on short-covering After constant decline over the last one week, castorseed futures gained on the back of short covering. Spot prices ruled weak due to higher arrivals and slow demand. On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange (RCX), castorseed March contracts increased by Rs. 33 to Rs. 4,120 a quintal, while June contracts moved up by Rs. 56 to Rs. 4,401 a quintal. RCX spot castorseed decreased by Rs. 17.50 to Rs. 3,982.50/100 kg. On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), castorseed March contracts gained Rs. 33 at Rs. 4,268 per quintal, with an open interest of 14,030 lots. NCDEX April contract increased by Rs. 34 to Rs. 4,328 per quintal, with an open interest of 196,420 lots.Our Correspondent (This article was published in the Business Line print edition dated March 13, 2014)
