Ram Leela Movie Review-In Short A young man and a woman, belonging to warring clans, fall in love with each other. Ram Leela Movie Review-Verdict Bhansali comes up with a colourful film, which has awesome chemistry between the lead pairs. Ram Leela Movie Review-Story Plot Ram (Ranveer Singh) and Leela (Deepika Padukone) belong to rival clains in rural Gujarat. However, that does not stop them from falling in love with each other after meeting up during Holi revelries. The lovers realise that their families would not allow them to be together and Ram and Leela make a decision to elope and get married. However, things are not so simple and the enmity between the two clans escalate as a result, resulting in more bloodshed and conspiracies. Ram Leela Movie Review-Performances Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are talented actors in their own places, but when they come together, the chemistry is explosive. Ranveer plays the rakish Ram and Leela plays the wild flower of rural Gujarat and the two actors will make you fall in love with them. If Bollywood ever had actors destined to play Romeo and Juliet, Ranveer and Deepika are those actors. However, our Romeo and Juliet are not the kind of lovers who sigh and pine for each other with puppy eyes...they are sensual, naughty and full of life, which makes the movie more enjoyable than other adaptations of the tragic love story. Apart from the lead cast, it is Supriya Pathak, the matriarch of one of the warring clans, who will impress the hell out of you with her ‘menacing yet maternal’ act. Gulshan Devaiah, Abhimanyu Singh and Richa Chadda also put in a decent performance. Ram Leela Movie Review-Direction Bhansali is known for making larger-than-life and colourful films and Ram Leela is not different. Bhansali also deserves credit for bringing out the chemistry between Singh and Padukone, which is the backbone of the entire love story. The minute they set eyes on each other, you know that an explosive, intense and passionate love story is about to unfold. The film has been shot well too and Ram Leela is the kind of film that one would enjoy watching on a big screen. Though the second half drags a bit, you won’t mind because you get to see more of Ram and Leela. Ram Leela Movie Review-Music The music of the film is something of a mixed bag-with awesome numbers like Tattad Tattad and Nagada Sang Dhol and average songs like Ishqiyaon Dhiskiyaon. Ram Leela Movie Review-Final Word If passionate love stories rock your world, Ram Leela is a must watch!
