What to eat at Sunrise (Sehri) For carbohydrate, rice and chapati Multi grain bread Masoor Dal Porridge Drink lots of water to keep you hydrated all day What to eat at Sunset (Iftaar) Dates are a rich source of fibre and diabetics can eat them too. Avoid eating sweets and fried food. One can try to eat vegetable and fruit peels as they too are a rich source of fibre. Once again, make sure you drink enough water. What not to eat People suffering from Type I Diabetes should avoid fasting. Below are a few more things one should avoid in order to keep fit during this period. Tea, coffee. Carbonated drinks and juices. Salted Lassi etc. Sweets like Jalebi and Barfi etc. If you’re a non-vegetarian use roasted meat instead of the fried variety.
