Ramadan From Dusk Till Dawn Photography Competition 2014 FullFrame Photography Magazine will once again host a photography competition dedicated to our Muslim brothers and sisters during this time of spiritual reflection, increased devotion and worship. The photo competition From Dusk till Dawn Season 2, Celebrating Ramadan, aims to collect various images that best reflect the essence of the Islamic Holy Month in our society. All photographers who would take part in the said competition are encouraged to educate and inspire by capturing images that would best represent the lives of our Muslim companions during the month of Ramadan. The Ramadan Photography Competition will commence on 29th June 2014 and ends 31st July 2014. MECHANICS From Dusk till Dawn, Celebrating Ramadan is an open-category competition. Any photo in line with the subject is acceptable: be it a portrait, landscape or street photograph. The contest is open to all photographers residing in the Middle East and all nationalities with valid U.A.E. residency are invited to participate in the competition. Participants must be at least 18 years of age or older; individuals exempted from the competition are those affiliated with FullFrame Photography Magazine including employees, their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses) and others living in their households. FullFrame will determine the eligibility of participation with their sole discretion. DISCLAIMER: All participants are expected to read the guidelines for the competition down to the letter. Each point must be followed precisely according to what is stated. Entries that do not adhere to the mechanics and guidelines of the contest shall immediately be disqualified. The following guidelines for the competition are as follows: •The official contest registration form must be filled out. LINK: form.jotformpro/form/41764191498970 •All photos must be taken within the country of the U.A.E. •All participants are to submit only one photo for entry. •Entries should be taken during this year’s observation of Ramadan. •Post-processed images and enhanced photos are eligible for the competition. •The placement of watermarks is strictly prohibited. •For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to FullFrame upon request. •Photos that have been previously printed out and/or used by other organizations for any other purpose are not allowed to be submitted for this competition. •All photographs must be in .jpeg, or TIFF format. •Photos must be in 22cm x 28cm - portrait orientation. •Photos must be 300 dpi. •Your photo must have a title. •Email your photo submissions to dusktilldawn@fullframemag with the subject line “From Dusk Till Dawn, Season 2”. You must also include your full name in the email. •The deadline for submission will be on 31st July 2014 and will not be extended. Note: A fee of AED 50 will be required for the printing of the photo submissions, which FullFrame Magazine will be responsible for. Printed photos will be given back to their designated photographers after the competition. JUDGING CRITERIA All judging shall be conducted by a second party to be arranged by FullFrame Magazine. Criteria for judging are as follows: Content (20%) Appropriateness with the subject of category and creativity. Composition (20%) Structure and message of the image. Photography Technique (20%) Focus, Sharpness, Detail, Depth of Field, Color, Usage of light, etc. Impact (40%) Command of attention and visual presentation. TOTAL: 100% GRAND PRIZE The winner of the competition will receive not only a feature story in FullFrame Photography Magazine, but their winning photo shall grace the cover of the magazine’s 16th Issue: Ramadan Special. Copyright Agreement By entering the contest, entrants agree to grant FullFrame Magazine a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, scholarly and all other standard FFM purposes. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. FFM will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. FFM reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, FFM reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion, as well. FFM reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others, tamper with the competition, violate these rules, infringe on the rights of third parties, and/or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Decisions of the FFM are final.
