Ramadan ended on 27 July 2014. As usual, the Cape Town Muslims came en masse to the beachfront in front of my apartment to spot the new moon and there was a sea of Palestinian flags. This is also done as they regard Sea Point/Three Anchor Bay as a Jewish suburb. I decided I would fly the Israeli flag from my balcony in defiance. These photos were taken as they were dispersing, hence you cannot see their flags or the huge crowd. They also usually have the arrogance to ignore the traffic laws and triple park along the side road under my balcony. This year there was a phalanx of police which stopped them and handed out tickets and towed some cars away. One car, with extraordinary arrogance and lack of respect for private property, parked in the entrance of one of the parking areas of my building (Third photo). I was going to throw an egg against their windscreen, but was stopped. Probably a better idea, but I was severely tempted.
