Ran the Vodafone Coimbatore Marathon today - was fun from the very beginning: > WIth the half marathon starting at 5:15 AM, was blissfully asleep until dad woke me up at 5:00! (cursed the alarm for not waking me up enough :-)) > Got ready in a matter on minutes and were on our way - traffic stopped because of the marathon and i could see my fellow runners well on their way > Got dropped off at the venue at around 5:43 - started immediately - no stretching! > Sprinted alone for the first 4 kilometres, after which i saw the trailing bicycles :-) > Relief - started jogging my normal pace > A fun route with over bridges and underpasses, minimal repeat! Covered a lot of Coimbatore in the process! > A fine breeze blowing throughout, plenty of Gatorade and water and encouraging NSS and event volunteers helped me go on, overtaking scores of runners > A high energy finish - dashing the last 50 meters on the running track inside Nehru stadium > Time of finish : 7:47 AM :-)
