Random Movie Thought: I remember seeing the movie Thor for the first time and thinking Man, they really watered down Loki for the movie. He wasnt as trickester or evil as I expected/wanted him to be. But after seeing him over the course of three films (i.e., Thor, The Avengers, and Thor: The Dark World) I see now that the intent was to give Loki a real character arc. Not just make him generic bad guy longing to rule the world or destroy it (see Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy), but a complex character full of life, pain, joy, and sorrow, akin to the heroes that populate the universe. You dont get that with one film. That amount of development has to be fostered and grow. Especially in our villains or the people we choose to hate/dislike. Like Magneto in the X-Men films (and comics, for that matter), we have a villain that is truly as intriguing as the heroes. And, in some ways, more so. An ant has no quarrel with a boot. I am burdened with glorious purpose. I am the monster parents tell their children about at night. It takes a great villain to make a great hero. And Tom Hiddleston is a bad ass.
