Random Thursday evening thoughts: We are halfway through November and I am just getting around to looking at my Dec. issue of Southern Living. As I have posted before, the 1st thing I do when looking through the latest issue is to turn to the last page to read Rick Braggs Journal. Decembers entry by him is a journey into peppermint bliss and Christmas memories. Here is a quote but the whole thing is worth the read: O Christmas Sock: Instead of red velvet, ours came with a sporty stripe. But what matters most is whats inside, and ours stretched to hold more joy... I wondered, until I was about 21, why they called them stockings. They were not stockings. Stockings were something women wore to church or when they were going out. They came in a non-descript tan, or, if you had completely forfeited your immortal soul, fishnet. I often wondered why they were called that, too, because even a fool could see they were useless for fishing. Maybe in queen-size. hehehhehe! My (Cheryls) memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas are like a fruitcake: filled with God knows what, but always joyous, always thankful, always blessed, and always in honor of the Savior.
