Random, non-writing-related poll moment: Out of random-ass curiosity, I have a hypothesis that you can determine a supertaster by whether or not they can taste the bitterness in potatoes after theyre cooked (and these potatoes were NEVER green). So!! If you 1) have no idea what a bitter potato tastes like and you have no idea what Im talking about, I wanna hear it. If 2) you have tasted a bitter potato, but never cooked, I wanna hear that. Or 3) if youve tasted bitter potatoes even after cooking (and theyve made your whole mouth taste awful) I wanna hear that, too. I really want to know how many people can taste what, because inquiring minds and all that... Oh, and heres another one, though it has more to do with smell: Anyone ever smell asparagus in urine?? Ive been told that some people cant...which blows me away!!!! Or heres one. How many of you can taste paint, laundry detergent, and household cleaners in plants that were grown inside, to such extreme amounts that they become totally inedible to you? I always thought people were joking--no shit, I thought they were JOKING--when they said they grew their herbs indoors for their meals because they tasted so much better than store-bought or dried. Then I watched people do that, and I was like... .... .... Eww? So...anyone?
