Random thought of the day: Several times I have seen posts implying that canine sports dogs were somehow abused by having to work and that people should just let a dog be a dog. I find this view mystifying. Dogs are intelligent, social creatures.. they want interaction. Your dog just being a dog is likely bored and unfulfilled. Not every dog is suitable for sports,but they all want to be a part of the family. They want to learn. They want interaction. And the dogs doing sports? They love the job. They get excited when its time to perform. Their eyes and coats shine with health. They are lean and well muscled. They are massaged and taken to chiropractors. Their nutrition is agonized over. They are worked with and trained and loved. They exist in partnership with their person. They travel and see new places and smell new smells. They are a million times more fulfilled than the dog languishing in a back yard being allowed to be a dog. That is all.
