Random thoughts after painfully listening to a TV evangelist: * He’s been on the screen for fifteen minutes. So far, I’ve heard him mention money about a fifty times and mention Jesus not once. * He just promised that I would break the cycle of poverty if I sow a “Thousand dollar” seed for harvest. In other words, I’ll no longer be a poor man if I give him thousand hardbacks. And to think that people fall for this. * According to him, once I put a ‘love gift’ on my credit card, I should expect a miracle from God. News Flash….Not all of us need a miracle from God. Some of us just need God to tell us “Good Morning”. Or give us a drink of water. Why is God always expected to provide a miracle after we give money? * The preacher man keeps telling me that I need to plant my seed. OK. If I must. I guess he has SOME things right! And, after all, it will be Saturday night here in a few hours! * Apparently, keeping my money and not sending it to him is limiting God. And if we give a healthy donation to him, the preacher, God will unleash his love and blessings upon the giver once the ‘gift’ is received. Let me get this straight. God silently watches during floods, hurricanes, disease, death, abuse, unkindness and injustice. But he swiftly acts for the good when we drop a “love offering’ into the bank account of the TV evangelist? I guess there’s one born every second.
