Randy McCarty says in this weeks Leader News he stands behind a the decision to hire Rick Carver as assistant superintendent and 2 more high counselors to focus on college and career readiness. Of course he stands behind the decision. Would he admit it was a mistake to hire the additional staff in a budget crisis? NO!! Going to rehire Jeff Travis after he retires? Travis will wait the 3 months and then will start the DOUBLE DIPPING!! Drawing a nice consultant fee while drawing a LARGE RETIREMENT PAY! That will save $$$$$?? The new financial officer has NO EXPERIENCE WITH SCHOOL BUDGETS? REALLY?? What about audit reports?? No experience there eitber?? Thought so!!! But he is part of the good ole BOY system from Greenvillle. The best all citizens of Muhlenberg County can hope for is that The Kentucky Department of Education takes control of the financial and educational system within our schools. This affects all Muhlenberg County residents because we all will see a tax increase!!!! But this is what we get when we hired a superintendent last year that simply wasnt the most qualified for the job who had NO SUPERINTENDENT EXPERIENCE. He should never have been one of the 3 finalist!! But he was the principal at Muhlenberg South High School that had extremely low test scores and part of the greenville good ole BOY system. At least one school board member had the foresight to vote NO on him.
