RANGERS players are rallying around shattered Lee Wallace after the death of one of his closest friends. The Light Blues defender and vice-captain was forced to pull out of the 1-0 win over Cowdenbeath after the news was broken to him. Murray D’Angelo was hit by a car after getting out of a taxi on the M8 motorway in the early hours of Saturday morning. Wallace was due to return after injury but boss Ally McCoist replaced him with Bilel Mohsni at the last minute due to a “personal and private” issue. This turned out to be the death of close pal D’Angelo. Lee McCulloch, the Ibrox captain, said: “It was a real tragedy and our thoughts first and foremost go out to the family. “The news hit Lee hard and the gaffer quite rightly pulled him out of the match. “We are a very tight dressing room and it’s important we pull together. “Lee is hugely popular among the boys and we must be there for him if he needs us.” Rangers star Lee Wallace devastated: Man who died after being hit by car on M8 was close friend.
