Rant On The 24/7 coverage of MH370 sucks. Now we have articles coming up about search operations being suspended due to darkness. No shit Sherlock, you cant see stuff in the dark. When and if they find the crash site (seriously you probably couldnt have gone down in a more desolate area of the world if you tried) itll be months if not years before we know what happened to it. Now for my theory... One of the pilots goes nutso, why we dont know, takes care of the other pilot in a struggle (explains the sharp altitude changes before loss of contact as they fight over the controls and the lack of radio contact). Pilot then shuts down all the radios and takes the plane below military radar coverage (burns a ton of fuel doing this) and heads out over the Indian Ocean (why is anyones guess). The passengers are obviously aware of this, after a while they assault the cockpit ala United 93 on 9/11. Struggle ensues and pilot either crashes plane or pilot is subdued. At this point if the pilot is subdued whoever controls the plane may know how to operate the radios but out there youd only be able to transmit on HF for the range given and thats if anyone was listening on that freq. Plane runs out of fuel and crashes. Now these planes have ELTs (think EPIRB) that should go off during a crash, but my guess is the impact was so hard and sudden that she was under before it had a chance to transmit (ala AF447 a few years ago off Brazil). Unfortunately we will never know the full story of what happened in the cockpit because the voice recorders only record for a couple of hours. The flight recorder is over 24 hours I think we should get that data in good shape. Thats of course if the pilot didnt pull the circuit breakers for both when he turned the radios off. Frankly the whole scenario is ripe for conjecture and speculation, but one thing is for certain is that the plane is sitting at the bottom of the ocean. It didnt fly off anywhere and land or get shot down or swallowed up by a blackhole. Rant Off
