Rant alert. There will always be news and current events junkies. These cable news stations are a joke. Journalistic objectivity and integrity? Right. Now more than ever, its about creating Inventory for commercials. Worse, theyre forums for political gasbags and has-beens who promulgate opinion and assumption for fact, twist half-truths to fan the flames of ignorant fear among their senior constituency. Like certain more senior relatives of mine. It pains me to see them fret over non-news and politicized controversies and get their blood pressure jacked up, but theyve gotta have their Fox News and take it all as gospel. Theyre so brainwashed theyre completely confused and in denial when shown the facts are counter to what theyve been told repeatedly. Confusing them with the facts or even valid alternate viewpoints only seems to make maters worse, so to keep the peace, you cant talk current events. Meanwhile, where are people younger than 65 getting their hard news now? Beyond that, is there such a thing as hard news anymore?
